The Eusebi family are delighted to welcome sixth-generation winemaker Marilisa Allegrini who will be hosting a very special evening with us, A Journey from Valpolicella to Amarone.

Marilisa is a celebrity of the Italian wine making world, carrying on the legacy of her father, Giovanni Allegrini. The Allegrini family have been growing grapes for several centuries on their 100 hectares of vineyard in the heart of Valpolicella Classico but it was Marilisa’s father Giovanni who first started bottling the wine. He died in 1983, leaving the business to his three children, Walter, Marilisa and Franco who shared his passion and commitment for quality wine. The three siblings worked together to build on Giovanni’s quality ethos until Walter passed away in 2003. Franco is now head winemaker and Marilisa is responsible for sales and marketing and today the Allegrini brand is one of the most respected in the wine industry worldwide.

With an instinctive passion for wine and a deep understanding of the complexities behind wine production, Marilisa excels at promoting the award-winning Allegrini wines and the Valpolicella area throughout the world. In 2002, Marilisa and her brother Walter founded 70-hectare property Poggio al Tesoro in Bolgheri to critical acclaim, thanks to the dedication, relentless pursuit of quality and respect for the land the family upholds in all of its endeavours.

Marilisa has hosted events in The Guggenheim and Verona Amphitheatre, to name but a few and has recently appeared on Fox Life and Sky after being named as one of the most influential Italian women in wine. She also had the honour of being the first woman to appear on the cover of Wine Spectator magazine.
